Royal North Devon Golf Club win the 2009 Rosebowl
The team consisting of: (back left) Nick Mitchell, Nick Keen, Jake Cox, Jimmy Mullen, (front left) Ollie Tanton, Richard Hughes, John Mounce, Paul Griffin (Capt) Chay Hughes, Dale Tanton, won the Rosebowl Trophy at Libbaton Golf Club having beaten Willincott Valley 4-1.
The Rosebowl is an annual foursomes handicap tournament held between all of the North Devon Golf Club. RND had made it to the final for the third year in succession but this was the first victory. Can anyone remember when/if we last won it ?
The first 3 groups consisting of Chay Hughes/Nick Mitchell (won 3/2), JImmy Mullen and Ollie Tanton (won 7/6), John Mounce and Jake Cox (won 4/3) won their respective matches and the final two groups consisting of Richard Hughes/Nick Keen and Paul Griffin/Dale Tanton agreed to honourable halves as the match was won. In total RND were giving 56 handicap shots over the 5 groups.
