Golf Captain's report - 19th April 2010
On Saturday the 17th April we played Ilfracombe in the first round of the Devon County scratch foursomes. Wins from David Ford and Richard Hughes , Jake Cox and Ahmet Mutlu were good enough to see us through to the next round.
My congratulations to Ahmet who made his first appearance for the club who understandable started with a few nerves but settled down to win comfortably 5/4
On Sunday we travelled to Burnham and Berrow where we lost 4-1 to a very strong Burnham side, an excellent comeback from David Lloyd and our Best Dressed golfer Derek Reed to win on the 18th and record our only victory
Sunday May 2nd we play the first round of the Palairet at Moreton Hampstead against Churston.
Your support would be most welcome or come along and caddie for one of the players.
My congratulations also to our veterans captain Derek Fogarty who recorded his first win in the Emerton Court trophy match against Morthoe
A 5-0 home victory now means they only require ½ a point in the away match to secure a place in the next round.
